Overview
Recently completed works at the Old Tile Works, linking the existing restaurant to a new oak-framed dining extension. The roof incorporates a state-of-the-art GRP box gutter, new glass roof structure, and custom lead flashings for full weather protection.
Challenge
Seamlessly join glass-roofed oak dining extension to existing restaurant
Install a robust, watertight gutter system for glass and pitched interfaces
Ensure longevity and strong wind resistance using custom leadwork and copper strapping
Our Approach
- Installed Cure It GRP box gutter to bridge restaurant and new oak timber-frame dining area
- Fitted C5 lead flashings with copper straps for enhanced wind-uplift protection at hips and ridge
- Collaborated closely with @topbarntimberframes and Horizon Scaffolding for efficient, safe access and build
- Tailored all detailing to suit complex glass roof intersections
Result
- Fully integrated guttering and leadwork for long-term weatherproofing
- Glass and oak structures joined seamlessly, maintaining aesthetic character
- Customer receives high-performance roof solution, ready for public use
